For the Term: May - June 2016

The dates for the following courses apply only to this eight-week term. CDI aims to provide this Series every 2-3 months.

Core Courses

You must complete the Series within the eight-week period of this term. The deadline to complete the Series is specified below. The relevance of the following dates for the courses are:

  1. If you are on a Certificate Track, then your Journal for a course must be submitted within one week after the end of the course per the date below.
  2. If you are on the pro bono Audit Track, then you must complete the post-assessment quiz for a course by the end of the course per the date below.
  3. Faculty participate in the online discussion forums primarily during the current course in the Schedule below.

(Some collaborations with CDI might have arranged different fees and requirements for the Certificate, for example, to attend a certain number of facilitated peer learning sessions instead of completing a capstone project. The deadlines mentioned below refer to the end of that day (12:00 a.m., Central Time zone,
or GMT-6).

  1. Start of enrollment period for this term ---- May 2
  2. Course 1: Facilitating Group Problem-Solving and Decision-Making (See Note 1 below) ---- Starts May 23
  3. Deadline to enroll in the Series ---- May 29
  4. Deadline to transfer from the Audit Track to the Certificate Track ---- May 29
  5. Course 2: An Overview of Sensible Strategic Planning ---- May 30
  6. Course 3: Customizing Your Strategic Planning Process ---- June 6
  7. Course 4: Deciding Your Strategic Priorities ---- June 13
  8. Course 5: Making Assignments and Monitoring Your Strategic Plan ---- June 20
  9. Deadline to submit the “Template to Customize … ” (for the Certificate Track) ---- June 30
  10. Deadline to submit the sample Strategic Plan (for the Certificate Track) ---- June 30
  11. Deadline to complete the Series -- June 30
  12. Deadline for faculty to grade the Template and the Plan -- July 15
Notes:
  1. The "Facilitating Group Problem-Solving and Decision-Making" course is first in the Series because the facilitator's responsibility is first to ensure high-quality facilitation, while adapting it to the process of strategic planning.)
